Among all lakes, Manimahesh lake is counted as the most sacred and beautiful one. Commonly known as Dal Lake, it is a high altitude lake on the elevation of 4080 meter above sea level situated close to the Manimahesh Kailash Peak in the Pir Panjal Range of Himalayas in the Bharmour Subdivision of Chamba District in the state. The religious significance of this lake is next to that of the Lake Manasarovar in Tibet. As far as the lake is concerned, it is the venue of a highly revered pilgrimage trek undertaken for the duration of August/September. It is called as the Manimahesh Yatra.

Chandratal Lake
Duration : 03 Nights / 04 Days

Day 01 : Manali – Rohtang Pass (3980m)- Dadrapul (3900m)
Upon arrival at Manali meet and drive for track tour, for a high altitude trek like the Chandertal trek one day acclimatization is not sufficient so we drive over the Rohtang pass overlooking the ever exiting drive from Manali. As we cross over the Rohtang pass (3980m) we start following the origin of the Chandra River and finally settle at the base of the Kunzum la pass (4551m), dinner and overnight stay on camp.

Day 02 : Dadrapul - Chandertal (4270m/ 18km/ 5 - 6 hrs)
After morning breakfast leave for Chandertal, on arrive at Chandertal Lake also called the 'Moon Lake' at an altitude of 4200m. Spend rest of the day at the lake to explore the lake and to acclimatize. Today we will trek 18 km to reach Chandratal and it will take us about 5-6 hrs, while on this trek we will get a nice view of the Lahul range, peaks like Minar (6172 M), Talagiri (6279 M), Tara Pahar (6227 M) and Mulkila (6517 M). Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.

Day 03 : Chandratal
Early morning hike to Chandratal Lake. Spend the entire day at the lake with a picnic lunch. Late afternoon hike back to the base camp for the night. Evening back to camp for night stay.

Day 04 : Base Camp to Manali
After morning breakfast drive to Manali, Night stay.
