Consistent with legend, Lord Shiva's consort Sati just the once burnt herself alive in Yagna to avenge an insult to Lord Shiva. The distraught Shiva selected her corpse and started his horrified dance. Then Lord Vishnu unleashed his Chakra and scratches the Sati's body into fifty one pieces to keep the earth from Shiva's wrath. All the fifty one places -where parts of Sati's body fell, became known as Shakti PeethsIt is alleged that Sati's eyes fell at the place where this temple is situated. Therefore, this temple is called Naina Devi. The word Naina is equal with Sati's eyes. Since then, devotees happening visiting this temple. The Temple of Shri Naina Devi Ji is situated on a hilltop in the Bilaspur Distt. of Himachal Pradesh in India. The temple is connected with National Highway No. 21.
The temple at the top of the hill can be reached via road (that curves round the hill up to a certain point) and then by concrete steps (that finally reach the top). There is also a cable car facility that moves pilgrims from the base of the hill all the way to the top. The hills of Naina Devi overlook the Gobind Sagar Lake. The lake was created by the Bhakra-Nangal Dam. Several mythological stories are associated with the establishment of the temple. Day 01: CHINTPURNI - JWALAJI - KANGRA DEVI
The Himachal Express train from New Delhi to Una arrives at about 8 A.M. morning meet and drive Mata Chintpurni temple first. Mata Chintpurni temple is about 53 kms from Una. On the way you can take your breakfast, upon arrival Darshan of Devi Mata Chintpurni Ji also known as Mata Shri Chhinnama stika Devi - the killer of demon Nishumbha. Later proceed for Jwala Ji temple which is about 29 kms from Chintpurni. Seek blessings from Jwala Ji Devi & proceed for Kangra Devi (Brajeshwari Devi). The deity (Maata Brajeshwari) sits under a silver dome with silver umbrellas. Devi Sati's charred breasts fall here.

Day 02: CHAMUNDA DEVI DARSHAN & BAGLA MUKHI
Morning darsan of Chamunda Devi temples which is dedicated to Goddess Durga Chamunda & have darshan of Devi Mata Ji, The 700 years old temple, Chamunda Devi comprises of big complex with a Kund (pond) in it. There is a cave-like scoop located at the back of the temple, representing the stone lingam (embodiment of Shiva).
(Optional) - If you wish we can take you for sightseeing tour of Dharamshala & Mcleodganj. Later proceed for Una. On way to Una visit the famous Baghla Mukhi temple. Bagala mukhi Devi is one of the ten Hindu Goddesses of Power. It not only decreases the power of the enemy, but also creates an atmosphere where they become helpless. The name Bagala mukhi has come from the word Bagala and Mukha that mean bridle and face, respectively. Thus, etymologically, the name stands for 'one whose face has the power to rule'. After reaching Una check in to hotel for nigh stay.
Day 03: NAINA DEVI SHAKTIPEETH
Morning breakfast proceed for Mata Naina Devi temple which is about 63 kms from Una. On way to Naina Devi temple you can have an enchanting view of Bhakhra Nangal Dam & Govind Sagar Lake-(Asia's Largest Man Made Lake). After reaching Naina Devi seek blessings from Mata Ji. We will drop you at Una railway station or Chandigarh according to requirements.
