The Pin Valley National Park

Located within the Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh in far northern part of India, the Pin Valley National Park is one of the beautiful national parks known for its amazing and rich flora and fauna. The park is positioned in the desert environment of the Spiti Valley within the Cold Desert Biosphere Reserve in the Himalayas region. Spreading south of Dhankar Gompa near the Tibetan border, The Pin Valley National Park also marks the border between the formerly separate districts of Lahaul and Spiti. The elevation of the park ranges from about 3,500 metres near Ka Dogri to more than 6,000 metres at its highest point. The beautiful park with its snow laden unexplored higher reaches and slopes, forms a natural habitat for a number of endangered animals including the Snow Leopard and Siberian Ibex.

Not forget to mention the vegetation density that is sparse, consisting and mostly of alpine trees and groves of Himalayan Cedar. Day 01:- Arrival Manali
Upon Arrive at Kullu Airport / Manali bus stand meet and transfer to hotel, check in at hotel, day at free leisure to visit local Manali, overnight at hotel.

Day 02:- Manali Local Sightseeing
Morning after breakfast full day visit Hadimba Devi Temple, Manu Rishi Temple and Vashisht Village, Tebetan Monastery, evening free to explore Manali market, overnight at hotel.

Day 03:- Manali to Kaza over Rohtang Pass & Kunzum Pass (200kms).
Morning after breakfast drive from Manali to Kazaen route Rohtang Pass (3980 m) & Kunzum Pass (4558 m). On the way visit Losar, Ragrik village, overnight at hotel.

Day 04:- Visit Key kibber back to Kaza (full day)
Morning after breakfast visit the famous Kyegompa, of the Gelugpa sect of Tibetan Buddhism, perched high on a pyramid-like mountain, Also explore Kibber (4200 m), one of the highest permanent inhabited villages in the world, which is located in a bowl - shaped narrow valley. Return to Kaza in the evening; explore this small town, overnight at hotel/ guesthouse.

Day 05:- Kaza to Tabo via Pin Valley
Morning after breakfast drive from Kaza to Pin Valley, the land of Ibex and Snow Leopards, Visit Kungri monastery at Pin Valley after that drive to Tabo. Visit Tabo monastery. Founded in 996 AD by the great teacher Richensang-po, Tabo is renowned for its breathtaking murals and stucco images – and is often called “The Ajanta of the Himalayas”. The largest monastic complex in Spiti, the old section has 9 temples, 23 chortens, a monk’s chamber and a nun’s chamber. There are several caves adorned with frescoes and Contemporary structures too. In Trans Himalayan Buddhism, Tabo’s sanctity is next only to Tibet’s TholingGompa, overnight at guest house.

Day 06: Tabo to Kaza via Dhankar
Morning after breakfast drive to Dhankar Visit gompa, This Gompa rests high over the valley and is a stupendous example of local architecture. It is regarded to have once been a fort and was also the residence of the ruler of Spiti – the Nano. On the way you will visit the LalungGompa. Continue drive to Kaza, overnight at Hotel / guest house.

Day 07: Kaza to Manali
Morning after breakfast leave for Manali enroute crossing over Kunzam Pass providing beautiful views of Chandra Bhaga range and Rohtang Pass, on arrival checks in at hotel, overnight at hotel.

Day 08: Depart Manali
After breakfast check out of hotel, in time transfer to Kullu Airport / Manali Bus stand for your onward destination.
